For the first time ever, The Summit on the Black Church is creating a space specifically for youth as a part of their Bi-Annual event.  The Summit on the Black Church “Summit Youth Saturday” is scheduled for Saturday, October  15th  from 9 AM until 1 PM at the Double Tree Hotel in Columbia.  The day includes a concert by “Lil Zing”, a workshop challenge from Dr. Velma Love about the role of health in your faith journey, worship with our very own Bishop Jonathan Holston, and an hour with comedian Mike Goodwin.  In addition, youth participants will have a chance to make a difference by bringing a pair of NEW SHOES (still in the box) to be donated to Inner Sole.  Inner Sole (co-founded by Dawn Staley, head coach of the USC womens’ basketball team) collects new sneakers and gives them to children who are homeless and in need.  In order to participate in the event, all you need to do is have your youth group leader click on the registration link below and show up at 9 AM at the Double Tree with a new pair of tennis shoes.  Its a small price to pay and a GREAT way to serve others.  Don’t miss this incredible day.
