Immerse, at its core, is a discipleship event, designed to help youth and adult participants to “dig deeper” in their faith. Too often even those who have grown up in the church are not clear on what it means to truly be a disciple of Jesus Christ and to live a life that reflects a heart of discipleship. With that in mind, we will spend our time at Immerse focusing on the theme “I Am a Disciple”. Young people spend their adolescence discovering their identity and answering the critical question of “Who AM I?”. We believe that helping those young persons understand the depth and richness of their identity in Christ can unlock a lifetime of discipleship that ultimately leads to an abundant life (John 10:10). So, at Immerse 2017, our worship times, breakout sessions, and family groups will offer opportunities for participants to discover and uncover more about their identity as a disciple. Some of the questions that will be considered are:
- What does it means to be a Disciple?
- Am I a disciple?
- What does discipleship look like?
- How can I live out my identity as a disciple in everyday life?
- And many more!!
We will be exploring the lives of different disciples who offer examples of how to be followers of Christ, while we continue to be humans and dealing with what the world demands of us. Join us on July 27-30 at Lake Junaluska for Immerse 2017.
