The Impact of COVID-19
on Young People

Youth workers more than anyone are aware that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact not only in the youth minsitries that you lead, but also on the lives of the youth in our congregations and communities. This impact offers plenty of challenges, but also creates opportunities for ministry.

I recently ran across an article on the Youth Specialties Blog titled “5 Ways the Pandemic Has Transformed Adolescence and Youth Culture.” As I read through the article, I found it to be packed with some helpful information to consider as we continue to lead youth during an ongoing pandemic. 

With that in mind, I have scheduled a much-overdue Youth Leaders Lab on Monday, March 8, at 4:30 p.m. via Zoom. My hope for this time is to discuss how we have seen these shifts play out in the youth ministries we serve and to consider how it might impact us as we move forward.
